ES&S Wins Contract to
Supply Satellite System to Pakistan |

ES&S
has won a contract to supply a complex satellite groundstation
to the national space agency of Pakistan, SUPARCO.
The system consists of a SATRAX700 dual band tracking antenna for reception
of polar orbiting satellites, a GEOSAT 3.7m fixed antenna for geostationary
satellites, and 7 Operator Workstations. Also included in the contract
is a comprehensive image processing package METEOR, which performs data
analysis and image presentation, and allows operators to interactively
overlay GIS and Numerical Weather Prediction data over received satellite
images. High level products such as Sea Surface Temperature, Chlorophyll
Index and Vegetation Index are generated automatically by the system.
The groundstation will be installed in Karachi later this year.
